Data privacy statement

Data collection

Generally speaking, you can browse our website without needing to provide any personal information. The web server for our site automatically collates log files whenever you visit. They contain, for example, your browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL (page last visited), IP address of your device, date and time of server request and client’s file request (file name and URL). This data is only collected for statistical analysis. It is not shared with third parties for either commercial or non-commercial purposes.

When you create a customer account with us, we process and store the data you provide. To do so, we require your name, email address and postal address as mandatory information. You also have the option of giving us your phone number, fax number and company details.

If you use our contact form and consent to us using your data, we will process and store the data you provide, particularly your name and email address. We will also process and store the information you provide if you contact us in any other way (e.g. by email).

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your email address to send you emails at irregular intervals containing information about new FurWonder products and special offers in connection with FurWonder products.

We will process your personal data for contractual performance, to deal with your requests and enquiries and – if you have given us your consent – to send you our newsletter. If we have your consent for the processing of your data, then it is covered by Article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, point (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Otherwise, the legal basis for processing your data is Article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, point (b) of the GDPR. We store your data for the duration of contract handling and also for the duration of the retention period required under tax and commercial law. If you have only registered for the newsletter, we will store your data until you revoke your consent. We will delete the data once the period has elapsed if you have not agreed to further processing and use.

Why we need your data

To place an order with us, you need to create an account with us and give us the required data. Unless we have your data, we cannot fulfil your purchase order. We need the details you share on the contact form so we can process your request. Unless we have those details, we cannot get in touch with you. If you are not prepared to provide us with your personal data, we will not be able to conclude a contract with you or answer your enquiry.

Disclosure of data

We do not disclose your data to third parties without your consent. The only exception is when we pass on your data to service providers such as delivery companies and PayPal, whom we need for contractual implementation. Data transmission is restricted to a minimum.

To make your payment, you are taken to a website of PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg (hereinafter: ‘PayPal’). Your data will also be sent to PayPal to the extent that it is required for contractual implementation and payment processing. PayPal reserves the right to conduct a credit check. The credit check provides a statistical probability of non-payment, and this result is used by PayPal to decide whether to provide the relevant payment method. The credit check may contain probability values (i.e. a score). Where a score is part of the credit check, it is based on scientifically recognised mathematical and statistical methods. Calculation of the score also incorporates your address details. Further data protection details, including the credit agencies that are involved, can be found in the PayPal privacy policy at
https://www.paypal.com/en/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full.
